Sketch 1:
The second 'A' was supposed to be the small 'a' at first. But as I started doing the sketches on illustrator, I found out that it was a chore trying to fit the 'piano strip' into an 'a'. Futhermore, it would not look as distinct if I had used the small 'a'. Hence I settled for the capital 'A'.
I had a hard time trying to draw the shape of the guitar (the 'l'). I ended up drawing it by using the 'bloating tool' on a 'rounded rectangle'. It resulted in a very inconsistent shape. Anyone has any better ideas?
Sketch 2:
The original A
The original 'A' was drawn like this. But Michael commented it looked too jaggy for a 'smokey' effect that I was trying to present. Hence I went to improve on it, by making sure the outline is not too jaggy.
Hence, the end product:
My Name is Alan
I Hate Smoke
The 'skull and bone' in this picture is supposed to illustrate that smoking causes death, which also implies my hate for smoking.
The 'smokey' effect for my name in this picture is not exactly 'smokey' enough. I had drawn them using straight line segments first, and then touching up the lines using the 'bloating tool' yet again. (I really like the 'bloating tool' somehow, find it very useful.).
Anyone has any idea how to go about doing the 'smokey' effect? Do let me know.

Both pieces okay. Cartoonish but nice. Can I ask you to rework the cigarette smoke to make it more natural by using photoshop's spray function?
Yup. I will be revisiting these works again definitely to improve on them. Thanks!
